Meyer Wilson is investigating allegations against former SagePoint broker Timothy Francis Dufresne (CRD# 3237322) after he submitted a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent to FINRA in connection with allegations by the regulator that he Dufresne engaged in misconduct with customers’ funds.
According to the accusations against Dufresne, between October 2014 and February 2016, he allegedly converted roughly $400,000 from a minimum of three customers. FINRA claimed that Dufresne got customers to distribute funds from their variable annuities, the proceeds of which he is accused of depositing into his own business account without the customers’ consent. Dufresne is then accused of using the funds he acquired for his own benefit.
By signing the AWC on April 6, 2016, Dufresne consented to a permanent bar in all capacities from associating with any FINRA member firm.
